Week 5

Craft- Using adobe illustrator, i finalized my illustration to the best of my ability with the time that was available. I used the pen tool and drew basic shapes and layered them to create the illusion of depth.

Concept- I chose this particular image to illustrate because it was the picture i thought most about when taking the pictures. I liked how the pole in front compared to the building behind it. For the illustration, i did the things the way i did because i only had a limited skill set.

Composition- I chose not to add the windows and fine details to the buildings because i was afraid that the excess of detail would ruin the picture.

Week 3

Craft: For this illustration, I was supposed to make a shape with my name and a car inside of it. So first i made my name with the pen tool and set it to the side. Then i made the outline of the car and the tires using the pen tool as well. Then i filled it in and made the windows. Finally I made the shape surrounding the illustrations. At first it was over the top of the car and my name, so i set it back behind the two to make the final image.
Concept:I made the illustration because obviously, it was an assignment. I feel that it was a very basic assignment and that it wasn't anything too difficult. However, the one thing I changed was the gradient in the shape and windows.
Composition: I decided to put the name underneath the vehicle, but for no particular reason. The shape was done this way just because i felt a square or a circle would be too plain.

Week 2

I think this is the best photo I shot.

Craft- At first I was going to just take a picture standing on the bridge over the highway just to get the cars on the road, but then I decided to change the angle to include more skyscrapers in the background, along with the exit ramp. Then I decided that the shot was too plain so I crouched down to include the "X" shaped bars in the foreground and then finally decided to go even lower and include the horizontal bar going across the green life on the bottom to add some more to the picture.

Concept- I shot the picture because I thought it gave an accurate portrayal of the Loop. It is always busy with cars coming and going but there are peaceful places as well, as you can see by the park located to the right of the exit ramp. And of course, the buldings in the far background .

Composition- I included most of this explanation in the "craft" part but the final picture looks like it does because I took my time to take the picture. Not to mention, I had the help of a friend who lives in the area to find the location.
