Week 9

Object, Craft- These three images are based around a Notre Dame stuffed leprechaun. In this assignment, I was instructed to create three separate images that followed three rules. The three rules I used for this assignment were:

1. Every image had to be created with a charcoal brush stroke;

2. Absolutely zero shapes may be used (lines only);

3. No space can be completely filled in, so each image will have a sketchy result.

Teapot, Craft- The first teapot I created is black and white. For this teapot, I was told to pick any charcoal stroke and use it in a sketchy fashion to learn this new technique.

The second teapot I made is simply a continuation of the first. I opened up the image of the first black and white teapot, created a color that I liked, and filled it in using another charcoal brush stroke that seemed lighter than the original, yet had a wider stroke. I found that this stroke is ideal for filling in objects. I then changed the color and tried to add the effect of the teapot pouring out some kind of red juice, but people concluded that the color combination reminded them of a crocodile, so I present to you, the Croc Pot.

The third teapot I made was the same teapot that I used for the first and second teapots. The only differences are that it faced the other way and it was placed upon two boxes. I had a lot of time to complete this teapot, so I added background details to it such as the computer screen and the desk that the boxes rested upon.
